Sarah Madigan, MA (Psychology) PG Dip Clin Psych MNZCCP
Sarah trained at the University of Otago and has been working as a Clinical Psychologist since 2008. She has worked with a range of people in different roles at Dunedin Hospital including in mental health and health psychology positions; and at Otago University in an ADHD research clinic. Now living in the Tasman region, Sarah works part time in private practice, based in Motueka. She is contracted to the Nelson Clinic to provide ACC-funded and private pay psychological services, pain services, as well as sensitive claims assessments and intervention.
A warm, interested and genuine clinician, Sarah enjoys helping clients to identify negative life patterns and change them. Her practice is guided by evidence-based research and current developments in psychological assessment and therapy. She draws on a range of therapy modalities to tailoring therapy to suit individual needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR.
The types of difficulties Sarah works with include: Anxiety; panic attacks; phobias; social anxiety; worry; stress & coping difficulties; trauma; depression; adjustment to chronic illness; chronic pain; sleep difficulties; loss; grief and bereavement; work and occupational problems; eating problems; self esteem difficulties, and assertiveness.
