Mary has tertiary and post graduate counselling and clinical supervision qualifications from Massey University and University of Waikato respectively. She provides counselling for West-Coast/Buller people through ACC, The Nelson Clinic, Home-Builders Child and Family Support Service, and employee assistance programmes. She also provides professional supervision face-to-face in Buller & Nelson, and by Skype throughout Aotearoa NZ and overseas. Mary works with adults on a range of issues including anxiety, anger, depression, grief, loss, relationship and workplace issues, stress, and sexual abuse. She is a pluralist drawing on many approaches including CBT, Client Centred, Mᾱori Models of Well-being, Neuro-science, Play-therapy, Psychodynamic, Solution Focused, and trauma informed practice. Mary is passionate about working alongside people who are choosing to live the best lives they can. She works in a gentle and holistic way, creating a safe therapeutic relationship, where clients are supported and empowered to develop a strong sense of self.
