Joleen McEvoy, BSW; Post Grad. Dipl. in Social Work; Grad. Dipl. in Applied Psychology
I have been employed in the older persons field for just under 10 years, and have worked, volunteered, and walked alongside those from other age-groups recovering from addiction and/or mental health challenges, chronic health conditions and trauma. These past few years I have also been supporting neurodiverse and transgender youth which has opened another dimension in my life, relationships, and practice. I am committed to providing safe, accessible, appropriate support enabling people to move forward in life in a safe, respected, and dignified manner. This is achieved in partnership with goals as set by client, ensuring fundamental needs are met and all avenues for external support and knowledge are gained; and through my own continued professional development (training and study). All interactions are person-centred, strengths-based, solution-focused and mindful & heart-full. Practice is guided by the ANZASW’s Code of Ethics, SWRB Code of Conduct, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Current SWRB registration and member of ANZASW.
