Jenny Hellyer, Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Supervision; MNZAC
Jenny is an experienced counsellor and supervisor who has been a full member of New Zealand Association of Counsellors since 1997. She provides professional supervision services in Buller, Greymouth and Nelson, and by Skype throughout Aotearoa.
Jenny has managed a successful private counselling practice in Westport for 25 years where she works with people from a range of cultures, genders, backgrounds and beliefs to resolve issues including interpersonal well-being, grief, stress, anxiety and depression.
Her particular specialty is working with people who have experienced the trauma of sexual abuse and family violence. Registered with ACC as a Sensitive Claims counsellor since 1994, Jenny has developed a thorough understanding of the context of complex trauma and the process of recovery.
She works with the Nelson Clinic, Homebuilders and workplace support agencies and has experience with critical incident debriefing.
Jenny refreshes her practice with continual professional development and is able to draw on an array of effective therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs. She ensures an ethical, trustworthy relationship with safety and confidentiality being paramount.
