Jade Ferriere, Dip Counselling, Therapy in Motion (TiM), Somatic Trauma Therapy & Parts Work, Integrated Yoga Therapist
When our body moves, everything moves—thoughts, feelings, sensations. Through movement, somatic awareness, and mindful enquiry, we begin to listen to what the body can teach us about our emotions, personal history, and the ways we relate to others. Movement becomes an antidote to disconnection and dysregulation, helping us return to ourselves with greater presence, compassion, and curiosity.
Jade’s approach to counselling and group therapy is grounded in trauma-informed practices that prioritise the body’s wisdom and its connection to the mind. Therapy in Motion is an evidence-based, dynamic methodology that weaves leading psychological theory into embodied movement practices. Jade offers a supportive space to cultivate embodied presence, explore core movement resources as therapeutic tools, and expand awareness across multiple channels of perception—sensory, emotional, cognitive, spatial, and relational—while growing skills in attunement, co-regulation, and nervous system resilience.
Jade currently offers one-on-one sessions in private practice, alongside somatic therapy classes and retreats for ACC Sensitive Claims clients in Nelson, Auckland, and Wellington. Through these offerings, she supports individuals in deepening their connection to themselves, navigating trauma with care, and exploring what it means to live in a more embodied and meaningful way.
