Crystal Curran, PgDip in Counselling (with distinction); Clinical Trauma Therapist; Mediation; Dispute Resolution; Arts Therapy (clinical)
Born in Wellington, raised in Austria, and back in New Zealand as a 20 year-old - with an accent to boot! Once back, I continued with studying art and becoming a teacher, but soon realised that the most fascinating study of all was the human mind and soul and what improves well-being. This fascination has never stopped.
In addition to graduating as a clinical Arts Therapist, I added a postgraduate Diploma in Counselling (with distinction), CBT, DBT, cultural studies, Specialist Trauma Therapy, Addiction, sexual abuse, sexual offending, Family Therapy, and Dispute Resolution/Mediation to my toolkit.
The values that shaped me into the therapist I am today may not be too dissimilar to what brought you to read this – hope in the face of challenges, and acknowledgement that at times we need the input of others to find our True North again.
Areas I have worked in:
Trauma; domestic and partnership violence; sexual offending; sexual abuse/assault; conflict resolution; depression; anxiety; grief and loss; adjustment disorders; drug & alcohol addiction; behavioural addictions; family issues; relationship issues; work-related issues EAP.
I also speak fluent German.
