Chris Wu, PGDipClinPsyc, MSc, BSc(Hons)
My name is Chris and I am a clinical psychologist based in Christchurch.
I strive to provide compassionate and tailored therapy that creates a safe space to process and grow amidst life’s challenges. I draw on strategies and techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), metacognitive therapy (MCT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye-movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), and compassion-focussed therapy (CFT). I provide therapy for a range of issues, although treating trauma and shame are areas of particular interest to me currently.
Outside of work, I love playing sports, particularly touch rugby, indoor football, and some mountain biking when I get the chance. I also enjoy eating good food, spending time with family, and having a go at learning some DIY around the house.
