Clinical Psychologist

Kia ora, my name is Caoimhe (pronounced Kwee-va). I am a registered Clinical Psychologist offering appointments in Wellington or online.

I am from Ireland originally, and moved to Aotearoa New Zealand a few years ago. I began working in mental health services in 2015 and, since this time, I have gained a broad range of clinical experience working with children, teens, and adults in community and inpatient mental health services in both Ireland and New Zealand. I completed my doctoral training in clinical psychology in 2020.

I primarily work with clients aged 18+ across a range of areas such as anxiety, OCD, phobias, depression, grief, identity, dissociation, trauma, and complex trauma. I draw on different evidence-based therapies including EMDR therapy, Schema Therapy, and DBT skills. I also complete specialist cover assessments and mental injury assessments for ACC Sensitive Claims and Psychological Services.

I take a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach, drawing on clients' strengths to facilitate change and growth. I prioritise creating a safe and inclusive therapeutic space.
