Camille Paris
I am a qualified Counsellor with a Bachelor of Counselling and a full member of NZAC. I have experience, working with a broad range of clients including both adult men and women. I am committed to delivering client-centered support that empowers the individual and helps promotes change in the client's life. I work with a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy base, while drawing on skills from Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Te whare tapa whā, Imago Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered Counselling. I have worked in areas including domestic and family violence, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, couples therapy, grief, stress, communication, self-esteem, and self-awareness. I understand the importance of Tiriti o Waitangi in relation to te ao Māori worldview and the colonization of Aotearoa and how this can show up in the counselling room.
I am part of the Motueka FVIARS (Family Violence Interagency Response System) weekly meetings that discuss the Police Call-Outs and how each agency is supporting the whānau. My role is to support the woman during this time.
I also co-facilitate a DBT Skills Training Workshop with clients who are receiving therapy under ACC.
I provide counselling both in a room and by using nature as a tool through the service “Walk and Talk’.
