Anna Clarkson, PhD, PGDipClinPsych, MNZCCP, MEMDRNZ
Anna graduated as a clinical psychologist from the University of Auckland with a PhD in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology. She has been in private practice since 2009. In addition to a background in general mental health, Anna has a particular interest in the psychological treatment of trauma and dissociative disorders. She also specializes in the treatment of insomnia, and has worked with the New Zealand Respiratory and Sleep Institute. Within her clinical practice, Anna draws on a wide range of therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy and EMDR to gently meet clients where they are at and together create transformation. Anna is an experienced and accredited EMDR practitioner, integrating ego state work into her approach and tailoring interventions to accommodate the impact of early trauma.
