Amy Benjamin - is a holistic counselor with a Bachelor's degree in Counselling from Auckland University of Technology, registered with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC), and an approved Counsellor Level 7 for Treatment and Group-Based Therapy under the ACC Sensitive Claims provider ID PAS256. Her private practice offers specialised trauma-informed support, integrating relational counseling with somatic techniques such as mindfulness, breathwork, and movement. Amy helps clients cultivate self-awareness, regulate their nervous systems, and enhance somatic awareness. Additionally, she incorporates ecotherapy into her practice, offering outdoor counselling sessions that further support healing and personal growth. As a group facilitator for Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TSY), Amy will collaborate closely with Jessica to create a safe and supportive environment for clients. Her trauma-informed approach will ensure clients feel supported and cared for throughout their group experiences. Amy’s experience in group facilitation includes leading the "Mindsets" program and designing and facilitating "Under the Sky," an Ecotherapy program. She is committed to seeking support and pursuing ongoing clinical development to expand her ability to facilitate diverse therapeutic groups. With over a decade of experience since establishing her private practice in 2014, Amy has worked with clients referred by reputable organisations such as Youthline, The Grief Centre, Clearhead EAP services, and is a loccum at AUT University. She is also currently supporting individuals bereaved by suicide through her contract with Aoake te Rā Aotearoa. Amy is dedicated to continuous professional development and supervision, and she remains committed to creating compassionate, empowering spaces for healing and transformation. After working with many clients eligible for ACC Sensitive Claims support, she registered last year with the intention of facilitating these groups, aligning her experience and skills to support ACC clients in their recovery journeys.
