She then completed her clinical training and her PhD at the Department of Psychological Medicine at the University of Auckland, where she continues to maintain an active research fellowship in compassion-focused approaches and stay up-to-date with evidence-based psychology practice.

Alina is trained in Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), and Compassion-Focused (CFT) Therapies and, more recently, Eye-Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Alina considers herself a life-long learner and her personal and professional motto can be summarised by a quote from Maya Angelou – “your legacy is every life you touch”. This life commitment has lead Alina to retrain in psychology after having a successful prior corporate career.
