Rachel Heartwood

Rachel Heartwood, Masters of Arts in Arts Therapy (Clinical)

Arts Therapist

Rachel uses creative arts therapy, somatic practices, mindfulness and nature-based tools to support clients who are suspected or diagnosed neurodivergent (those with autism (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyspraxia, dyslexia and dyscalculia). The tools used in her therapy space utilise bottom-up approaches, that aren’t reliant on verbalisation being the dominant form of expression, and so work to normalise these ways of being for her clients.

Rachel has worked extensively with clients on the spectrum of all ages and specialises in working with the latest research that shows how women with ASD may not present in the same way as the stereotypical diagnosis. She supports clients to find and embrace their unique ‘order’ rather than matching a treatment to their ‘disorder’ and invites playful exploration with their way of experiencing the world to find acceptance, growth and joy.
