Counsellor
Kia ora, ko Nyree ahau. I am a counsellor based in Whakatū Nelson and I work one to one with adults.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Counselling. My approach is grounded in Person-Centred Counselling, following the work of Carl Rogers, with a focus on empathy, authenticity, and acceptance. I also integrate gentle mind-body techniques (EFT Tapping) to support the somatic processing of traumatic memories and distress.
I bring both professional training and lived experience of healing and change to my work. I am committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to ongoing cultural responsiveness. I warmly welcome LGBTQIA+ clients, and offer a compassionate space for growth, insight, and connection.
