Counsellor

I am based in Timaru and I hold full NZAC accreditation. I am an experienced, inclusive, and compassionate professional with diverse counselling experience and strong interpersonal skills. I am a person-centred, relational-based practitioner with experience using a range of therapeutic approaches. I have experience of a number of modalities ranging from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and CBT, enabling me to deliver individualized counselling which is best suited to your needs. I have worked as a counsellor in educational settings for many years counselling students, staff, and whānau for well over a decade, and most recently counselling in private practice.

I work with grief and loss, trauma, stress and work-based stress, anxiety, mental distress, relationships, identity, self-esteem. I also have 30 years of experience working as a professionally registered teacher. Throughout this time, I have delivered brief intervention and long-term therapy to young people, and adults. I deliver high quality counselling, which is non-judgmental and confidential, upholding the NZAC Code of Ethics .
