Jiwon Seo, MA & PGDip in Child and Family Psychology, GradDip in ECE, BA
Jiwon is a Child and Family Psychologist who has experience working with children, adolescents and parents in an outpatient mental health service. She is originally from South Korea and completed her training at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.
Jiwon’s clinical areas of interest include working with children, adolescents, young adults and parents in the treatment of trauma and chronic stress, attachment and relationship difficulties, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and depression. She is also interested in offering psychological assessments for a range of development, cognitive and learning difficulties.
Jiwon has an integrative approach to assessment and treatment that is based on a developmental, systems and family oriented, trauma informed and attachment based model of health and well-being. Her primary therapeutic approach employs attachment based psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Jiwon is trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
