SCS Online Group Work Nationwide

SCS ONLINE GROUP WORK 2026 - Term Two

The Nelson Clinic is offering adjunctive group therapy for SCS clients in 2026. Our group therapy classes will allow participants to experience being in their bodies and become familiar with inner sensations as a broader journey towards healing. Due to the online nature of the group, it is essential that participants have learnt some emotion regulation/grounding skills in case they become dysregulated in a session or have the ability to notice distress and reach out for support via the support therapist. These skills need to be developed with their ACC treatment provider prior to starting the yoga group.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY)
Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an evidence-based intervention designed for complex trauma and treatment-resistant PTSD. Rooted in trauma theory, neuroscience, and yoga philosophy, TCTSY emphasises reconnecting with inner sensations rather than focusing on physical forms. This internal focus supports participants in increasing tolerance to sensory experiences and enhancing emotional awareness. Research by Bessel van der Kolk has shown that TCTSY can significantly reduce PTSD symptoms and improve functioning within 8 weeks.

Online Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (Mixed Gender)

Facilitators: Jessica Dziwulska & Amy Benjamin

Our online TSY groups focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where participants are empowered with choice and autonomy, allowing them to engage with their bodies in a way that promotes healing and resilience. By gradually developing capacity for interoception, individuals reconnect with their physical selves, while aiding in the regulation of the nervous system, and reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and unhelpful coping strategies. This method offers a gentle, mindful pathway toward restoring trust and safety within one's own body after trauma. No prior yoga experience necessary and all injuries and limitations can be supported and navigated.
