Helen completed a certificate in Humanistic Counselling in 1993, then worked as a volunteer drug counsellor 1993-94, followed by work in brain injury rehabilitation 1996-98. From 1998-2008 Helen worked in the UK National Health Service clinical psychology settings with children, families, teen, and adults, then worked privately from 2008. Helen started studying Mindfulness in 1998, and has been teaching it since 2001. Her special interest area is understanding and working with clients with complex trauma experiences across the life span and across diagnostic categories. Her post qualification training has included Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Structural Dissociation and Ego State training, Brainspotting, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, clinical supervision, family work, clinical hypnotherapy, clinical neuropsychotherapy, brainspotting, training in the assessment of traumatised children & adolescents, and receiving Psychodynamic Psychotherapy supervision for a few years.
